COMMENT 'EGG' 💅🏻
IVF might already be the plan.
But girl, there's so much you can do naturally to support egg quality and your IVF outcome, beyond folic acid, smoking and alcohol (that's usually where the clinic conversation stops, right?).

My client Eva is about to start treatment, and for the next three months of IVF prep this is exactly where we're focusing, to nurture her eggs and give this round its best shot.
PS just as much is happening around male factor and sperm health btw.

Here's what we're not skipping in her prep:

🥩Nutrient density and warmth
Cooked, warming meals over raw or cold food. Warmth aids digestion, and digestion is closely tied to nutrient absorption. Protein, healthy fats, iron, zinc and selenium are some of the raw materials associated with healthy egg development. Eggs take around 90 days to mature, so what's on your plate now is linked to the mitochondrial energy at collection.

⚖️Balancing blood sugar
Insulin resistance is associated with disrupted ovulation and reduced egg quality. Steady blood sugar is connected to clearer hormone signalling through stimulation. Dress.Your.Carbs. (pair them with protein, fats and fibre)

😴Sleep and melatonin
Think morning and evening daylight, screen-free wind-down rituals, less blue light at night.
Melatonin isn't only a sleep hormone, it's a powerful antioxidant inside the follicle. Poor sleep and late-night screens are linked to less melatonin reaching your eggs.

🩸Nervous system safety and blood flow
Nourishment matters, but so does feel-good movement to boost circulation to the reproductive system, somatic work, breathwork, and built-in pockets of joy.

💊 Supplementing with intention
A good multinutrient covers the basics, sure. But the additions tailored to HER count most, not a generic stack off the internet. We test her iron, folate, B12, vitamin D and mineral levels via bloods/HTMA instead of guessing, as low levels are associated with compromised egg quality and poorer implantation outcomes.

Told IVF is your only chance to conceive?
So was I.

After 12 years without a period and being misdiagnosed with PCOS, I found the real root cause and got pregnant naturally, twice.

So let's try answer these 👇

1️⃣ Do you know when you ovulate?
Not when your app says you have, but when your body indicates it: cervical mucus, higher BBT, a progesterone test. Apps guess from averages. You are not average.

2️⃣ How long is your luteal phase?
Shorter than 10 days is linked to low progesterone, which can make implantation harder. Most women haven't got a clue.

3️⃣ Have you + your partner had comprehensive bloodwork?
Not just FSH, LH and AMH.
Standard tests often skip a full thyroid panel with antibodies, ferritin, B12, fasting insulin, vit D and minerals.
By the way, sperm is involved in up to 50% of couples' fertility struggles, yet he often gets one basic semen analysis and that's it (DNA fragmentation, anyone?!).

4️⃣ What's your toxin exposure?
Phthalates, BPA and synthetic fragrance are linked to worse egg and sperm quality, and even IVF outcomes. Your bathroom cabinet and his cologne are soooo part of the game!

5️⃣ Is your nervous system stuck in fight or flight?
When your brain doesn't feel safe, reproduction drops down its priority list. Conception requires safety.

If these questions led to slight internal panic, then chances are IVF is NOT your only option. Yet.

An egg takes around 3 months to mature.
Sperm takes slightly less.
What you do today influences it.
Preconception work may reveal why it hasn't happened yet and give you a chance to conceive naturally.

And if you do choose IVF (I'm not anti-IVF, obvs), you walk in knowing you've stacked the odds in your favour.
That's not delaying IVF.
That's actually preparing for it.

Told IVF was your only option? So was I.

After 12 years without a period and a PCOS misdiagnosis, I found the real root cause and conceived naturally, twice.

So let's see how you do 👇

1️⃣ Do you know when you ovulate?
Not when your app predicts it. When your body confirms it: cervical fluid, a temperature shift, a progesterone test. Apps guess from averages. You are not average.

2️⃣ How long is your luteal phase?
Under 10 days is linked to low progesterone, which can make implantation harder. Most women have never counted.

3️⃣ Have you AND your partner had comprehensive bloods?
Not just FSH, LH and AMH.
Standard workups often skip a full thyroid panel with antibodies, ferritin, vitamin D, B12, fasting insulin, minerals. And sperm is involved in up to half of couples' fertility struggles, yet he often gets one basic semen analysis and that's it (DNA fragmentation, where are youuuu?).

4️⃣ What's your toxic load?
Phthalates, BPA and synthetic fragrance are linked to poorer egg and sperm quality, and even to IVF outcomes. Your bathroom cabinet and his cologne are part of your fertility plan.

5️⃣ Is your nervous system stuck in survival mode? When your brain doesn't feel safe, reproduction drops down its priority list. Fertility needs safety.

If these questions led to slight internal panic or a panic Google, then chances are IVF isn't your only option. Yet.

An egg takes around 3 months to mature.
Sperm takes slightly less.
What you do today shapes it.
Preconception work may uncover why it hasn't happened yet and open the door to conceiving naturally.

And if you do choose IVF (I'm not anti-IVF, it's incredible), you walk in knowing you've stacked the odds in your favour.
That's not delaying IVF.
That's preparing for it. (If you're 38+ or your AMH is low, time matters. This work runs alongside IVF prep, not instead of it.)

Do you feel meeeeeeeee?🤯

To the lovely women asking my hourly rate this week: here's what I wish I'd said 💛

Today I paid £8.30 for a slice of cake and a coffee. Didn't blink.

And yet there are still days I feel like I'm overcharging for my work.
Work that helps women get their period and fertility back after years without one.
Work that supports couples to conceive after being told IVF was their only option.
Work where, some days, the latest message in my DMs is a baby scan 🥹

MAKE IT MAKE SENSE 🤯

PS:. this one's for the coaches/practitioners too.
If you've ever undercharged for life-changing work, or apologised before saying your price out loud, I see you. We've been taught that caring and charging can't live in the same sentence, but THEY CAN.

Now, back to the hourly rate question.
It's actually a fair one, most support is sold that way. But here's my honest answer:

I don't charge per hour.
I charge per transformation 💅🏻✨🚀

And by the way, the hour you see in our coaching sessions is the tip of the iceberg.
Underneath it:
🌿 Reviewing your bloods, history, nutrition, fitness, mindset, and the literature relevant to your case.
🌿 Building your hyper-personalised plan through The Messy Middle™ after every single session.
🌿 Tracking progress week by week.
🌿 The voice notes, the wobbles, the "is this normal?" DMs.
🌿 15+ studying, 4 degrees, working in research and my own experience of period recovery, conceiving naturally and navigating motherhood.

Your body didn't stop cycling in an hour.
It won't come back in one either.

You're not paying for my time.
You're paying for what changes.
Your period.
Your trust in food.
A nervous system that finally feels safe.
And for some of my clients, a baby in their arms 💙

So if you've asked me my hourly rate, no judgement at all. I just want you to know what you're really investing in: YOU.

👑 Ready to stop DIY and invest in support that actually sees YOU? DM 'READY' and let's book your chemistry call.

💬 Coach + practitioners: do you feel meeee? ⬇️

@ellen_mulcrone thought of you waiting this 💙
