My Story

From 12 years without a period to Motherhood X 2

Hey, I’m Elena — Italian‑born, Brighton‑rooted Women’s Integrative Health Practitioner, mother of two, and lover of science, radio hits and wild, messy sea dips.


For years, I lived inside a body that wasn’t cycling, wasn’t ovulating, and wasn’t being understood. I spent over a decade without a period, was misdiagnosed with PCOS, and was told IVF was my only path to motherhood. Appointment after appointment, I was handed the pill, dismissed, or funnelled toward interventions that never felt like my body’s truth.


Maybe you know that feeling — the quiet panic, the what if my fertility is slipping away and no one is listening, the sense that something’s missing, the exhaustion of trying to “fix” your body while everyone insists you’re fine.


Eventually, I turned to what I knew best: research. Not the frantic Google‑spiral kind, but the deep, evidence‑driven work that had shaped my career. When I finally discovered I had Hypothalamic Amenorrhea — not PCOS — everything shifted. I made the changes my body had been begging for, and within two months my period returned. Four cycles later, I conceived naturally.

For a moment, I thought that was the end of my struggles.


But motherhood had more to teach me.
During my second pregnancy, I was suspected of having a rare placental condition — which meant a distressing second and third trimester, endless uncertainty, and a planned C‑section at 37 weeks. The postpartum period that followed was less a “phase” and more a year‑long unraveling. Even as a “seasoned mother”,
I was dysregulated, out of my body, emotionally raw, resentful, exhausted — and furious at how little support women receive in those first months.


That season humbled me. It stretched me. It changed the way I practice.

Because what I learned — in the most embodied, confronting way — is that safety isn’t something you achieve once and keep forever. Even after fighting so hard to help my body feel safe again during period recovery, that safety slipped the moment I stopped prioritising myself, sleep disappeared, and the reality of juggling a toddler, a newborn, a business and a relationship almost broke me.

Women aren’t meant to hold all of this alone.


I refuse to let you be dismissed, misdiagnosed, or funnelled toward interventions when — with the right support — your body can return to deep body‑brain safety. The kind that restores bleeding and ovulation, supports natural conception, and makes pregnancy, postpartum and motherhood less like survival mode and more like coming home to yourself.

Gives me a deep understanding of female physiology, hormones, metabolism, immune function and biochemistry underpinning every reproductive season, so I can identify root‑cause patterns rather than treat symptoms in isolation.

PGCE Science Education

Allows me to help women actually understand their bodies, cycles, hormones and nervous systems so they can make informed, empowered decisions. It’s the foundation of my ability to educate, reframe and guide women through change without overwhelm — and to translate complex scientific concepts into accessible, bite‑size nudges that land in real life.

MSc Cognitive Neuroscience

Grounds my work in how stress, trauma, perception, identity and the nervous system shape your hormones — and how we can use neuroplasticity and brain rewiring to retrain your brain out of survival mode and back into deep physiological safety. This is the backbone of my body‑brain safety approach.

Ayurvedic Practitioner Cert

Brings in ancient, cyclical, constitution‑based wisdom that honours the whole woman — digestion, stress, identity, seasonality — and complements evidence‑based physiology beautifully.

PgDip Personalised Nutrition + Dietary Education

Trains me to use nutrition individually, translating complex science into sustainable, real‑life nourishment strategies. This is where targeted hormonal support meets lived‑experience practicality — no protocols, no generic plans, just deeply personalised nourishment that supports your hormones, cycle, fertility, pregnancy and motherhood.

200HR Yoga Teacher Training

Gives me the somatic, breathwork and embodiment tools to help women regulate their nervous systems, reconnect with their bodies, and rebuild safety from the inside out.
